I’m sure you take some supplements for your overall health, and maybe even one or two for your brain power. Today I’m going to quickly share with you a strategy that will allow you to get much more value from the supplements that you are already taking. This isn’t going to be a pitch for any new super brain power supplement, but simply a solid strategy that I employ every day.

Aside from purity and potency concerns when it comes to choosing supplements, one of the main challenges when supplementing is absorption rates. It does not do your body much good to take all the best supplements if they aren’t getting absorbed into your body. A hard, compressed vitamin pill may not fully dissolve and break down in your body. The nutrients may not absorb in your small intestine, or may be destroyed by stomach acid. The same is true for gel-caps.

This is why some supplement manufacturers are moving towards sub-lingual products that dissolve underneath your tongue for greater absorbency. I currently take a D3 and B12 sublingual vitamin from a company called “Superior Source” that I find to be effective and high quality. However, even with the sublingual increase in absorbency, I knew there was a way to get even greater nutrient assimilation.

Enter the “magic secret” ingredient: DMSO. You have probably at least heard of DMSO before, and maybe even used it in the past. For those who aren’t familiar with it, DMSO is a solvent that quickly penetrates human skin and carries anything dissolved in it into the tissues. DMSO stands for Dimethyl Sulfoxide, and it is an “organosulfur compound” meaning it is sulfur based. Sulfur is an extremely important ingredient in human biological chemistry, but it is usually lacking in most people’s bodies. DMSO has some amazing properties in relation to pain relief when applied to the body.

However, the big problem with DMSO is that it smells very, very bad. Imagine if garlic and broccoli had a child, then multiply that by 100. That’s what “industrial grade” DMSO smells like. Fortunately, I found a company online (DMSO.bz is their web address) that makes a very high grade 70% DMSO product that is mixed with honey to eliminate the bad smell. I have literally slathered this stuff over 90% my body in self-experimentation, with no ill effects whatsoever. In fact, all kinds of small aches and pains from over-exercising disappeared with regular DMSO application.

I also have taken this DMSO.bz solution orally, and the taste isn’t too objectionable. This brings us back to the supplementation. Several months ago I started experimenting with dissolving my sublingual vitamins along with a half teaspoon (about 2.5ml) of DMSO under my tongue and holding the mixture there for a minute or so before swallowing it. Doing this with 1,000-2,000iu of B12 twice per week produces rapid, noticeable increases in mental clarity and energy that last throughout the week for me. This has been an ongoing effect, not something that faded away within a week or two.

B12 is sadly lacking in nearly everyone’s body, so supplementation is a must if you are looking to achieve maximum brain efficiency. I recommend that you seek out “methylcobalamin” for supplemental B12 instead of the more common “cyanocobalamin” which is much less useful to the brain. I have been using Superior Source’s methylcobalamin with good results that include better response to the brainwave entrainment frequencies in Genius Brain Power as well as overall increases in mental clarity.

I also chew up my tablet supplements with a half teaspoon or so of DMSO in order to attain a significant sublingual effect that is normally impossible to achieve with hard tablets. The two tablet supplements that I take most often are Zinc and Selenium, and I have found that I can take about 50% less of them due to the DMSO absorption enhancement.

If you’re feeling like you are wasting money on supplements, you probably are. Try the DMSO experiment for yourself and see if you notice better absorption of your supplements. I recommend that you get your DMSO from DMSO.bz, as the regular stuff smells incredibly bad and tastes worse. I am not affiliated with their company in any way, I am simply a happy customer.

If you have wanted to try brainwave entrainment but didn’t think you would see results, try adding B12, D3 and DMSO to your daily supplementation. You may find that your brain becomes much more responsive to entrainment once these nutrients are brought up to better levels.

I can’t tell you how much of these supplements to take, as that depends on your biology. Test it out for yourself and see what you get. I personally take 2,000 or 3,000iu of B12 per day and have gone as high as 5,000iu per day with only positive effects. I take 10,000iu of D3 per day because I live in the cloudy Pacific Northwest USA. Everybody is different, so please tailor your supplement intake to your unique biology.

All the best,
Cameron Day

I often receive questions asking how long a person “should” use brainwave entrainment per day, and how often they can or should entrain their brain.

I also get the occasional question, “What do doctors recommend” regarding brainwave entrainment.

I don’t have a “doctor recommended” protocol because there are very few doctors who are interested in brainwave entrainment outside of simply measuring brain changes during entrainment. I could probably pay a doctor to endorse the product and give a recommendation, but phony endorsements aren’t my style.

However, based on extensive testing and user feedback, I make “intelligent usage” recommendations in the user’s manual for Genius Brain Power.

As for negative effects, I have personally pushed the envelope with entrainment to see if I could over do it and produce harmful side effects in myself. When I hit 4 or more continuous hours of entrainment while sleeping, I found that I felt “groggy” the next day and that my focus wasn’t as sharp as it normally would be. This passed within 8 or so hours, after which I felt fine again.

I have also over-done the IQ Increase track to see what would happen, and the worst side effect was that my mind was “racing” too fast.

This is why I prescribe intelligent limits on the usage of the entrainment tracks in the user’s manual.

I can assure you, dear reader, that this technology is safe, yet very powerful. It can take some time to see results, but if you use it consistently according to the guidelines in the manual, I can guarantee you will notice positive results within a month that will continue with ongoing usage.

I can practically hear some of you thinking, “Why don’t you tell me NOW how much brain entrainment you recommend so I can find out before I buy?”

Sure, I can do that. It’s not exactly top secret, but please bear in mind that the excerpt below is taken out of context from the rest of the user’s manual.

The Best Way to Start Your Brain Entrainment

It is important to gently ease yourself into brainwave entrainment. GBP’s entrainment frequencies are VERY powerful, and if you push too hard too fast, you may experience unwanted brain fatigue.

I recommend that you begin with the 30 or 60 minute Easy Relaxation / Alpha Light Meditation for 5-7 days as the low frequency component of your entrainment regimen.

For your higher frequency stimulation, listen to IQ Increase and Laser Focus & Creative Ambition one time each during your day as you work, commute, run errands, etc.

After you are comfortable with the Light Alpha Relaxation / Meditation, you can move to the Deep Theta tracks.

Use a 30 or 60 minute Theta Profound Relaxation / Deep meditation track a maximum of once per day for 5-7 days while continuing to listen to IQ Increase and Laser Focus & Creative Ambition once per day.

After a week of using Theta, you are ready to experience Delta Ultra Deep Meditation tracks. Just like with Theta, use a 30 or 60 minute Extreme Relaxation / Delta Ultra Deep Meditation track a maximum of once per day in addition to listening to IQ Increase and Laser Focus & Creative Ambition once per day with your eyes open.

After you have experienced the Delta frequencies for 5-7 days, I recommend that you alternate between Alpha, Theta & Delta sessions (30 or 60 minutes) as you continue to listen to IQ Increase and Laser Focus one time per day.

Best,

If you keep up with the mainstream media’s “news” to even a small degree, you probably heard about the massive salmonella egg recall in the United States during the summer of 2010.

As of August 25th, 2010, the number of eggs recalled is 380 MILLION eggs. That is a pretty staggering number, and this won’t be the last time we see a salmonella scare with commercially farmed eggs. It certainly isn’t the first time something similar has occurred, but there is a simple solution to the “egg problem” that I will share with you in a moment.

Why does this happen? Are eggs inherently dangerous?

The one thing that none of the “news” reports about this problem tell the public is that the reason salmonella and other egg-borne diseases infect our food supply is because of the practices used in the factory “farms” producing these eggs. Calling them farms is a cruel joke, actually.

First, here is a quick news report from the mainstream:

It isn’t really shown in the “news” story above, but factory egg laying hens are kept in extremely small, crowded spaces without any ability to stretch, roam, exercise, or do any of the activities of a normal, healthy chicken. Here are a couple videos showing the “living” conditions these hens are subjected to.

This video shows “positive spin” on factory egg farms (note the crowded conditions these hens live in).

This video shows a very troubling inside look at egg factories. (Warning: this video contains very disturbing footage showing hens being killed. Don’t watch this if you are easily upset.)

Is it any wonder that disease is rampant among these neglected (and abused) animals? Of course not — Any rational analysis of this type of “farming” will quickly determine that disease is the inevitable consequence of such abuse and neglect.

The solution: Farm fresh, locally grown eggs from happy chickens

Some people adopt a vegan diet as a way to counter the trend of factory animal abuse. However, many people’s bodies are not bio-chemically suited for vegan eating, myself included.

Individual bio-chemistry set aside, I am of the opinion that farm fresh eggs are one of the best sources of protein and Omega 3 fats that a person can eat. Put another way, eggs are fantastic brain food, especially the yolks.

I have been eating more eggs than ever recently, and I have absolutely no fear of salmonella poisoning because I purchase my eggs from a local organic chicken farmer who takes great care of her hens.

I have taken a tour of the farm to see first-hand how these chickens live, and they are living very well. They have a huge outdoor area to roam in, exercise, play and socialize. (Yes, chickens really do play and socialize.) They are fed a wide-ranging diet, including foraging for worms and grubs, eating wild grasses, etc. This isn’t a small farm either — She has over 1000 chickens and they are all very well cared for.

The yolks of these eggs are a deep orange-gold color, and they taste delicious. I often like to have my yolks raw, something that I will only do with eggs that I know are fresh and come from healthy chickens.

I encourage you to stop buying your eggs at the supermarket and get them same-day fresh from a local farmer. You might have to drive a little extra distance, but it will be well worth it. Once you have tasted farm fresh organic eggs that are only a day or two old, I think you will never want to eat a supermarket egg again…even if they are organic.

Support your local organic chicken farmers. The chickens will thank you, plus your brain and body will be better nourished because of your extra effort.

To your great health,
Cameron Day

I recently received an email from a Genius Brain Power customer who asked some very good questions about brainwave entrainment. I enjoyed the conversation and I think that it can be of benefit to other people who are interested in getting the most out of brainwave entrainment, so I am including the entire email below. My responses are in blue and the original questions are in gray quote boxes.

At 08:18 PM 7/6/2010, Mr. A wrote:
So, I have a few questions for you about your product.
1. I did some research on brainwave entrainment and I found evidence that does indeed have the capability to increase IQ, but the studies were mainly on children with mental challenges or ADHD (one child went from 70 to 113). Is this simply the children being given the ability to focus, which is different from actually improving their intelligence?

I believe that the ability to focus is directly related to one’s measurable IQ, and is equally applicable to “normally functioning” people as well.

There also was supposedly was also a study that showed that college students who used entrainment did better than those that did not (but that might not be related to actual IQ), but I have not been able to find the original draft. What do your IQ increase tracks resemble? Are they based on the same technologies in these trials with extra power or what?

I would need to see those trials to know what frequencies they were using. They were “probably” using meditative frequencies, such as Alpha/Theta/Delta.

2. I have been using your IQ increase tracks about twice a day, 3-6 days a week, for about 3 weeks. I also used your Alpha meditation tracks 5 times on five days that were pretty close together, and I am now on Theta. How long will it take for me to see a measurable improvement in my IQ?

If you keep going at the same rate, 6-8 weeks of total entrainment time should be enough to see a measurable increase.

I dislike using such a dimensionless number as a measurement of intelligence, but it is the only objective means of definitively proving that the program has done something. I am thinking something on the order of 3-5 more weeks, what are your thoughts on this? What would I be able to expect at that time? To give you an idea of where I am at now, two months ago my IQ was measured by one source to be 120, another 149 (that one I could only take once though, so I will use the other one).

It depends on the testing methodology and other factors at the time of testing, but if you are calm, well rested and well hydrated when you take the test, you should see a measurable increase provided by your entrainment usage.

3. I am thinking of being a writer, and this may seem silly to you, but I do not want to become reliant on brainwave entrainment for my creative ideas. It would feel almost like cheating. Increasing my IQ to be able to develop technologies that I have in my head is one thing, but getting my creative inspiration from entrainment is sketchy because I have no way of knowing whether it is truly working- and it would be tragic for me to think it is isn’t working and find out that all of my good ideas were mainly the result of frequencies after I write a something that is sub par in comparison to the works I wrote while using entrainment. I worry that all gains from this will be temporary, and I won’t have time to use it for maintenance, and that I will have become so reliant on it that I will fall apart in its absence. Will the IQ increase portion increase IQ without the help of the creativity tracks?

Yes, the IQ increase tracks will increase IQ without the help of the creativity tracks. However, you will get much better results from using the “full spectrum” of entrainment frequencies in the package.

Your worries are unfounded, however. The inspiration that you receive from the meditative and creativity tracks is coming from YOUR mind. It is simply an area of the mind that few people access on a conscious, regular basis. Genius Brain Power helps you to access these deeper parts of your sub-conscious mind more easily. The more you open the pathway to your sub-conscious, the stronger the pathway becomes, and you won’t be dependent on the entrainment tracks once you have made a strong, clear sub-conscious connection.

However, just like a regular meditative practice, if you abandon your entrainment and allow the stresses of daily life to build up in your mind, you will be less effective and probably less creative. Getting into the creative flow requires a state of consciously willed relaxation. If you can get relaxed without entrainment, you can be creative. If you need entrainment to relax, you should not look at it as a personal flaw. We ALL need some extra help to relax and relieve stress at times.

You can also add in some of the usual stress relievers: Moderate exercise, spending time in nature, getting a massage, meditating without entrainment, Yoga, etc.

4. You said in a previous email that the effects of entrainment were like those of muscle memory. However, unlike muscles, which are set at a given number of cells and only increase in size and retain information in multiple nuclei, the brain has recently been found capable of generating new cells. In addition, it can create networks of connections that strengthen the overall functioning of the entire brain by giving neurons new places to fire and better context (context meaning that a neuron with one connection is not going to do as much good as one with hundreds). These factors lead me to believe that IQ gains that are caused by the generation of new neural tissue are permanent, and that other gains with a less permanent nature can be made permanent by application-giving the new found intellectual skill connections tied to information that would have to be eliminated before the gains in IQ could be. I imagine this is why most brain training does not work, as people don’t learn in addition to the training, and when they stop doing that, the brain has no reason to keep its new powers. With all this in mind, do you still think that the IQ gains would be temporary? Does brainwave entrainment lead to neurogenesis and new connections in the right context?

Yes, brainwave entrainment has been scientifically proven to lead to neurogenesis and new neural-synaptic connections in the brain, especially the frequencies used in IQ Increase and the relaxed focus tracks. You are also correct that these new connections are strengthened and made more permanent by actively learning new skills and information.

The real key is to use the deeper Theta/Delta tracks in order to allow your brain and mind to “re-organize” around the new neural connections and information that you have learned. You tap into your sub-conscious mind in these states and correlate the information that you have learned in new and unique ways.

Which leads us to “my” definition of genius: The ability to combine seemingly unrelated pieces of information into a new, cohesive understanding that embraces a wide range of topics, and then communicate that new model of information to others in a way they can understand.

That is best accomplished by regular use of the deeper Theta/Delta tracks. Regular Theta/Delta use will also help you to release “internal stressors” (worries, for example) so that you are in a more calm, focused state of mind in your daily experience, allowing you to express your natural creativity and intelligence.

A calm, focused mind can accomplish nearly anything, in my opinion.

All the best,

I sent this email to the Genius Brain Power mailing list in May, and while most people appreciated it, there was some controversy generated as a result of the clash of new ideas and old research.

First, here is the email:

Hey there,

We have been getting a lot of emails lately from students wanting to use Genius Brain Power to help them learn massive amounts of information quickly, pass final exams, etc.

Being a student often means having zero extra dollars to buy stuff, so I offered them an easy way to maximize their study results with just the 20 minute Alpha level free sample.

I want to share it with you because it can be used by anyone to improve focus, information retention and get more done in less time.

First, here is a link to opt-in for the sample in case you still haven’t used it yet: http://www.geniusbrainpower.com/sample.php

Here is a little known fact about the brain: It only likes to do something for 90 minutes at a time, then it wants to relax for a little while. (I will spare you the lengthy science behind this, so I can keep this message short.)

Using this “90 minute rule” can help you get 200% more benefit from ALL of your efforts, and it is extremely simple to apply.

Just work / study / read / learn / etc for 90 minutes, then take a 30 minute break…

AND listen to the 20 minute sample during your break. This will help your brain more deeply absorb and recall the information you just learned.

A recommended protocol would be:

Study for 90 minutes
Take a 30 minute break and use the 20 minute sample during this time
Study for 90 minutes again
Take a 30 minute break and use the 20 minute sample again

By keeping your study periods limited to 90 minutes at a time, then resting for 30 minutes with the Alpha level entrainment track, you will be able to retain much more information than if you tried to force yourself to study continuously for 2-3 hours.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to drink A LOT of pure, filtered water, too. The brain does NOT function well if your body is low on water.

Now, if you have already invested in Genius Brain Power, here is an even more powerful way to triple your results with the 90/30 minute rule, using the wide spectrum of entrainment frequencies in your package.

First, study / work / learn for 90 minutes *while you listen* to IQ Increase and Laser Focus & Creative Ambition. (Those two entrainment tracks actually total 100 minutes.)

Your brain will not be fatigued after 90 (or 100) minutes of entrainment-supported studying, working, etc, but you should still take a 30 minute break and listen to any one of the following:

30 minute Easy Relaxation & Alpha Light Meditation

30 minute Profound Relaxation & Deep Theta Meditation

15 minute Bonus #3: Quick Relaxation

Then study / work / learn for another 90 minutes with “IQ Increase” & “Laser Focus.” On your next break, go DEEP with one of these low frequency entrainment tracks:

30 minute Extreme Relaxation & Ultra Deep Delta Meditation

25 minute Bonus #8: Soothe Your Nerves

By staggering your intense focus / work / study periods with a short lower frequency entrainment session you will be able to achieve MUCH more during your work periods, AND you will feel GREAT at the end of your day instead of being mentally exhausted.

If you have Genius Brain Power, the above protocol is just a guideline to get you started. Please feel free to experiment with using other tracks during your “downtime” as well as using Bonus #2: “Creativity Unleashed” during your work / study phases.

All the Best,

Cameron Day

p.s. If you use the 90/30 protocol combined with Genius Brain Power, please send me a quick email and share your results.

Now for the controversy…

I received an email from a fellow named Derek with this response:

I just read your exam study tips…what a load of crap. Studies show that after about 30 minutes of studying, memory retention and focus drops dramatically. It is a FACT that the best way to study is for 30 minutes MAXIMUM followed by a 10-15 break, yet you are telling people to study for 90 minutes at a time? Your 90/30 protocol is a farce, unless, of course, you WANT people to forget what they just studied.

I gently pointed out to Derek that those were old studies. I remember reading about them 20+ years ago. Ancient would be a better word for those studies, actually.

NEW studies reveal that 90 minutes is easily done provided appropriate breaks are used, and empirical results by many individuals has proven this to be true.

Also, students cramming for exams don’t have the luxury of frequent breaks.

Here is a short article about the 90 minute “Ultradian Rest Response”

http://www.theglobalintelligencer.com/dec2007/soc-health/intuition

However, I will slightly revise my 90/30 protocol recommendations to appease the “30 minute traditionalists.”

It’s a very simple revision actually: Every 30 minutes, close your eyes for three minutes and press pause on your entrainment track playback. For the first minute, mentally review the pertinent details that you have just studied.

For another two minutes after that mental review, do your best to not think about anything. Relax…breathe deep… just focus on the music, the pulsing tones or your breath. The idea here is to allow your brain to completely rest for a minute or two so that the information from the previous 30 minutes transfers into your long term memory.

The rest of the 90/30 protoc0l remains the same.

Happy studying!

Did you know that your brain can be exercised in order to make yourself smarter, have better memory, learn new information faster and be happier overall? People all over the world are doing exactly that, and so can you.

Brain training exercises have become very popular in recent years, and for good reason. Everyone wants to increase their intelligence so that they will be able to achieve more in their lives, and to be happier as a result. The problem is that achievement does not equate to happiness.

Rather, happiness leads to greater achievements.

The concept of happiness is something unique to each individual, but it really comes down to a single concept: peace of mind.

A mind in turmoil cannot achieve its desires, usually due to lack of focus and commitment. A mind strengthened by a sense of peace, order and free flowing creativity can achieve almost anything, and overcome nearly any obstacle.

Unfortunately, most of the brain training regimens on the market only scratch the surface of what can be achieved in the brain. This doesn’t mean that games focused on brain fitness aren’t worthwhile, but rather that they should be viewed as only helping in certain areas of cognition.

The type of superior brain power training that I am talking about uses a special technology known as “brainwave entrainment.” This is a scientific term for the process of matching one’s brain to a specific frequency rhythm in order to create states of whole-brain function, deep relaxation and even stimulate more neural connections within the brain to increase intelligence.

Although producing superior brainwave entrainment frequencies is a complex undertaking, the way this works for YOU is actually fairly simple. You just put on a pair of headphones, play the special brain entrainment audio and let your brain synchronize to the frequency of the track.

Not All Entrainment Products Are Created Equal

There are two general types of brainwave entrainment frequencies available in the market today: Binaural Beats and Pulsed Tones (known as Isochronic tones).

Binaural beats have been around for a long time, but they are being replaced by pulsed (isochronic) tones for numerous reasons, of which the main two are:

1) Binaural beats often require expensive headphones for maximum benefits. Pulsed tones do not. In fact, isochronic tones often do not require any headphones at all.

2) Binaural beats tend to stop working for a person after a while, so they are required to purchase new tracks with deeper binaural entrainment frequencies. Pulsed tones don’t stop working in this way, and they actually work better the more one uses them.

This is because binaural beats send two different frequencies at barely-audible volume levels into each ear. It is then up to your brain to “do the math” and entrain to the difference of the two frequencies. For example, one ear receives a tone at 200hz, and the other ear receives a tone at 210hz. Your brain will then (theoretically) entrain to a 10hz rhythm, which corresponds to a deeply relaxed Alpha state.

The problem is that over time your brain gets used to processing the two tones and stops entraining to the difference. This is why most binaural beat brain entrainment products have several levels to keep your brain progressing as it adapts to the frequencies.

Isochronic tones, on the other hand, present the brain with a computer generated, audible rhythmic tone that the brain will easily follow. The brain’s natural tendency to follow, or entrain to, rhythmic tones allow isochronic tones to create a powerful, consistent state of entrainment that does not “wear off” over time.

Because binaural beats are normally “masked” or hidden inside of background music, special headphones are required in order to correctly reproduce the frequency range of the binaural tone. This is one of the biggest weaknesses of binaural beats.

In contrast, the audible isochronic rhythms generate an almost “irresistible” entrainment effect that does not need any special headphones to work. The main thing you should remember here is that rhythm is one of the most basic functions in the human brain, so everyone’s brain responds to audible rhythm, including yours.

Isochronic tones are extremely effective at entraining the brain to any frequency from a deep meditative state, to mild relaxation, to high level stimulation that can literally exercise the brain’s ability to produce more neural-synaptic connections, which results in increased intelligence in the user.

The pulsed tones must be audible for these effects to occur, and consistent use of isochronic tones will literally train your brain to move into the entrainment state as soon as you hear the tones.

Brainwave entrainment can help you increase intelligence, relieve stress, meditate easily, increase concentration and memory, and much more. The only way to get these benefits is to experience entrainment for yourself.

You can get started today with the best brainwave entrainment package around, Genius Brain Power. The package is downloadable, so you don’t have to wait for CDs to be shipped to you, which means you can get started today: www.GeniusBrainPower.com

All the best to you in your quest for a superior brain,
